Southwest has found a new home at the
award-winning Kellogg West conference center on
the Cal Poly-Pomona campus.
Kellogg West is located in one of California’s few remaining natural black walnut groves with over 75 varieties of plants and trees, where the 10, 57 and 71 freeways meet. Kellogg West is a beautiful conference center, ideally suited to our needs.
Located on a hilltop overlooking cereal magnate W.K. Kellogg's former ranch estate, you will love the floor-to-ceiling windows which are a feature of every meeting room, allowing you to see the San Gabriel Mountains and Mount Baldy.
A multi-million dollar renovation has just been completed, resulting in a warm rustic feeling. Secluded, serene, and relaxing describe the property.
The $85 registration fee covers all meals (Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner and Sunday breakfast) and includes all workshops, the Expo, a Welcome Bag, and more -- everything our attendees look forward to each year.
The room rate at the Lodge is $89 per night single, $95 double, $105 for four, in the recently renovated two-story lodge which features many amenities, creating an atmosphere of comfort and pampering. Free Parking –

Thank you and your team of workers for a great conference.
The smaller atmosphere was better. I met so many more people this year.

Another successful SW Computer Conference is over and I'm
already looking forward to next years’ edition. Thanks to the tireless effort
of many people for again making this, the 19th meeting of the Southwest
Computer Conference, a success. My personal, sincere thanks to Judy Taylour for
her tireless efforts in helping everyone who attended (that includes me). Her
tireless efforts will ensure that many more of these worthwhile, informative
and educational Conferences will be held in the future. I hope to see all of
you again next year for the 20th meeting of the Southwest Computer Conference.
Bob Gostischa for Avast Software the makers of avast! Anti
Virus.

Congratulations on yet another successful SWCC. We all
appreciate the hard work you and others do.
Wil Wakely, Past President, Seniors Computer Group, CA
Thanks so much for letting SCALE participate in SWCC
2012! We had a great time, met a bunch
of nice folks, and probably hopelessly confused at least some of them. We did
between 10 and 12 Linux installs or upgrades. I expect we'll be back next year.
Congratulations on a job well done!

2012 Southwest Technology & Computer Conference
Enhance Your Life with Technology
June 22 – 24, 2012
Another successful Southwest Computer Conference was held June 3 – 5, 2011 at the Town and Country Resort & Conference Center in San Diego, with over 200 attendees. The conference started 18 years ago with 35 attendees – and many of them haven’t missed a year as well as one sponsor, Gene and Linda Barlow (User Group Relations). The Microsoft Store tours were one of the highlights of the conference. Interest in the Windows phone was high and many planned on getting one when their current contract expires. This was a banner year for the number of sponsors who expressed interest in making presentations to user groups…either in person or as webinars.
Are you an early adopter of what’s new in technology or are you someone who is satisfied with what you are currently using. SW has something for all levels of experience whether it is the latest gadget or tips and tricks for using your favorite application.
What’s new for 2012?
• New date: June 22 - 24, 2012
• Lower hotel rate: $99.00
• On line registration and pay by PayPal as well as check. For those who want to mail their registration, you will still be able to do that with the fillable PDF form.
• Same registration fees ($100.00 / $75.00 early bird fee)
• Moving to the Regency Conference Center, a more casual setting
• A block of sleeping rooms has been reserved in the Regency Tower and Garden Rooms
• Mini hands-on bring-your-own-laptop sessions
• The Hospitality Suite is next to one of the swimming pools…we’ll be able to relax and meet & greet pool-side. Don’t forget to bring your bathing suit.
SW will again be hosting tours of the San Diego Microsoft Store on Thursday, June 21, 2012. This is the third year that a member of the Store team has presented at SW and he is already working on the presentation for the tours as well as their breakout session. Look for lots of information about Windows 8 and all things touch that make your computing experience easier and really fun.
